Letter: Obama no imperialist

To the editor:

I am writing about the Jan. 31 editorial about what you call an imperial presidency. Did you call the two Bushes imperialists? They used executive orders more than Obama, and George W. Bush started a war in Iraq based on a rasher of lies. He and his gang should all have been impeached for the damage they did to thousands of American servicemen by having them killed along with tens of thousands of Iraqis. Furthermore W. never paid for his war.

Obamacare was won with not one Republican vote and is now incredibly successful and is helping millions of Americans.

It was not unbelievable that Obama received a standing ovation from the gallery. How else can the president get anything done for the American people with the most obstructionist Congress, especially the Tea Party Republicans, in American history?

There is no steamroller for the Republicans to stand in front of. Only the party of No has been responsible for the very costly government shutdown and for obstructing everything that the President has tried to do for the American people.

There is no imperial president in office today and yes, we should have removed the cancer of British imperialism.
