To the editor:
I lived on Putnam Street in North Beverly for seven years and am well acquainted with the Brimbal Avenue traffic problems.
Let me echo Jack Coan’s recent letter –– the major need and first priority should be an overpass to the property adjacent to Maestranzi’s, to open that area to industrial (not retail) development.
What concerns me now –– empathy for my former neighbors –– is that the dump site may have toxic chemicals (where are the tests and who did them?) and that the developer is not going to ante up if the toxic chemical removal is going to cost $5 million. Now that is a developer for another country.
