Letter: Willows incident showed kindness of strangers

To the editor:

Two Sundays ago, my 22-year-old daughter, Sam, and I went to the Salem Willows. On the way back to the car, she suffered a seizure.

Thankfully, within moments, strangers stopped to ask if and how they could help.

One of those was off-duty Salem police officer Rick Gagnon, who was with his son, Jonathan.

My family wishes to thank Officer Gagnon, his son and the neighbors for helping us. The kindness and generosity these people demonstrated was overwhelming.

This officer went above and beyond.

Their willingness and ability to help made all the difference for us that day, and for that we thank them.

Oh, and I haven't forgotten the neighbor to whom I owe the blanket. I will get it to you!

Wishing you all peace and happiness.
