Letter: Bentley teachers have worked hard

The Salem News

---- — To the editor:

What a slap in the face to the hardworking teachers and acting principals at Bentley School. They have worked diligently with these students to help improve their lives, and because TEST scores do not meet the state’s criteria, they may now lose their jobs. Oh, wait! They only have to reapply for the same jobs they have been doing. Why does this private firm have to bring in its own principal? That suggests they have no confidence in the teachers or principals in Salem. If that all doesn’t smack of a takeover, I don’t know what does.

Although I am not now a resident of Salem, I did grow up there and am a proud product of the Salem public school system.
