Letter: Cahill the right choice for Beverly

To the editor:

For over 30 years, I have been a close friend of Mike Cahill, and I truly believe he is the right choice for mayor of Beverly.

As a lifelong resident of Beverly, I, like Mike, have always had our city’s best interests at heart.

Over the years, I have witnessed Mike’s unwavering commitment to Beverly, and I have often closely observed his actions as a consistently hardworking, ethical and dedicated consensus builder.

Because of these traits and others, he was elected to five terms as our state representative, promoting economic development in Beverly, while putting himself through law school at night.

Mike went on to serve as our City Council president, championing numerous key areas of need for our city.

Among the many contributions he will make to our city as mayor will be to continue his commitment to excellence in our public schools, break the logjam in developing our waterfront through his ability to bring people together and build consensus, and continue to promote the revitalization of our downtown area.

Mike is a new generation of leadership and truly enjoys public service. I heartily endorse Mike Cahill as the best choice for mayor of Beverly and urge all our citizens for vote for Mike Cahill on Nov. 5.
