Letter: Prevey votes his conscience

The Salem News

---- — To the editor:

After the Salem Ward 6 City Council forum, it became more obvious to me that Ward 6 needs the experienced leadership of Paul Prevey.

Paul’s eight years as councilor have taught him how to get things done in Salem.

Yes, Paul supports the majority of the mayor’s plans, but he also votes his conscience, opposing ideas he feels are not in the best interest of the citizens of Salem — even when that makes him unpopular with the local newspapers.

Paul cares mores about the residents of Salem than his political popularity.

As a North Salem resident, he understands our quality-of-life issues, devoting himself to preserving our neighborhoods and working to see the city a safe place to raise our families.

The primary election produced a Ward 6 vote that was too close for my comfort.

If you didn’t vote because you assumed he’d be re-elected, Nov. 5 is the time to go to the polls to ensure we have another two years of Paul’s wisdom and dedication.

Paul has been a mentor to me over the past eight years, and I am proud to call him my friend and neighbor. Please join me in voting for Paul Nov. 5.
