Letter: In praise of CVS

To the editor:

This is an open letter to the managers of CVS pharmacies.

The Danvers Board of Health would like to commend you on the decision made by CVS to discontinue the sale of tobacco products in their stores with Oct. 1, 2014, being the target date for removal of all tobacco products and related products from CVS stores.

We applaud your decision and the time and effort you have put into bringing this initiative forward. It is a historic and health-conscious accomplishment that reflects the concern for the public’s health and welfare.

Thank you also to all for your diligence in accomplishing this effort.

Martha R. Swindell
