Community helped make Coastal 5K a success

To the editor:

Salem Sound Coastwatch hosted the third annual Coastal 5K Run for the Beach at Lynch Park in Beverly on Sunday, Sept. 16. Funds raised from this event support Salem Sound Coastwatch’s Adopt a Beach program in which volunteers clean up and monitor local beaches year-round. More than 40 area beaches have been adopted by several hundred volunteers.

Salem Sound Coastwatch is a nonprofit environmental organization working to make our coastal waters safe and healthy.
