On Dec. 6, MassPay Payroll Services held our third annual Fed Up With Cancer fundraiser at Danversport Yacht Club. With more than 400 people in attendance, Fed Up With Cancer’s evening of food sampling, live music, and live and silent auctions raised $20,000 to support programs and services for cancer patients at the NSMC Salem Hospital and the Mass General/North Shore Cancer Center in Danvers.
This year’s Fed Up attendees enjoyed lively entertainment provided by dueling pianists Ed McCarron and Bill Connors. Local football legend Jermaine Wiggins was in attendance to lend support to the evening and meet attendees. Media personality Kim Carrigan served as emcee and auctioneer for the event and did a fantastic job, as always, in creating a lively atmosphere.
I’d like to thank all the wonderful restaurants that provided food for Fed Up With Cancer: Acapulcos of Beverly, Cafe 97 of Groveland, Danversport Yacht Club, Edible Arrangements, Grumpy Doyle’s of Reading, Marino’s Cafe of Beverly, Not Your Average Joe’s of Beverly, Pellana Prime Steakhouse of Peabody, Ryan and Wood Distillery of Gloucester, Scratch Kitchen of Salem, Sidelines Sports Bar & Grill of Salem, Supino’s of Danvers, Victoria Station of Salem and Woodman’s of Essex.
I’d also like to extend my gratitude to the sponsors of the evening, as well as those who donated raffle and auction items. Your generosity is truly appreciated not only by me, but by the North Shore Medical Center and MassGeneral/North Shore Cancer Center. Our Gold Sponsors included: AOA Consultants, Deschamps Printing Company Inc., Feeley & Driscoll P.C., Phil Richard Insurance, Tarlow Breed Hart & Rodgers P.C. and Lauren Poussard Photography. We are also extremely grateful for those businesses and individuals who sponsored at the Silver and Bronze levels.
To all those involved in the third annual Fed Up With Cancer fundraiser, your ongoing support is sincerely appreciated. I have drawn great inspiration from the toughness and selflessness that families impacted by cancer have shown. The North Shore community has come out in droves to help make a difference and support a world-class cancer treatment center right in our backyard. Fed Up With Cancer is only made possible because of the generosity of our friends, neighbors, colleagues and area business owners.
Thank you to everyone who was a part of this inspirational night!
