Letter: Fundraising for troops resumes Saturday

To the editor:

First, I would like to thank all of who have stopped in Danvers Square and dropped a donation in the jug.

The money collected goes to defray the cost of postage for the hundreds of boxes of items that are needed for our troops in Iraq, Afghanistan and all over the world. These donations are sent by the hundreds of volunteers who make up Operation Troop Support led by Chris and Dick Moody, who started the organization nine years ago.

I also want to thank those who honked their horns and waved as they passed me in the Square.

I will be out again, starting my eighth year, this Saturday, April 7, between 2 and 4 p.m.

Thanks for caring. God bless you, and God bless our troops.

Jim George
