Letter: We must reduce our debt

To the editor:

I don’t understand the logic of the second editorial in your Jan. 24 paper (“Stop the routine budget crises”). A limit on how much one can borrow certainly does make one conscious of what one can spend. And the same goes for government.

Yes, if a household is on the point of bankruptcy, or in it, the household does have to cut up its credit cards. And the same goes for government.

Our nation is bankrupt. We must start to cut back.
