Letter: Does Peabody mayor's salary make sense?

To the editor:

I had to laugh when the Peabody councilors stated that the Peabody mayor should have his pay in line with other mayors in surrounding towns. After receiving his raise, the Peabody mayor is now making more than the other mayors that have more experience and, also, have been a mayor much longer than Mayor Bettencourt. Does this make sense?
