Letter: Support Wes Slate for mayor

To the editor:

I have known Wes Slate for more than 20 years, meeting on the soccer fields when our boys played on the same team. I have known his wife, Georgia Bills, even longer. Through the years, our friendship has grown, along with my admiration for both Wes and Georgia.

Wes is a dedicated man — to his family, his employer and his city. His tenure as a city councilor is marked by his hard work for his constituents. He studies the issues at hand so that he has the information needed to make the best decisions. He also likes the work. He genuinely likes people. He likes to hear about their issues and problems. He loves to set about finding ways to help solve problems.

I hope you will join me in supporting Wes Slate for mayor on Nov. 5.
