Letter: Will hotel expansion mean less parking?

To the editor:

I read with interest the articles about the Rocketts’ plan to expand the Salem Waterfront Hotel. I like to patronize the shops at Pickering Wharf, but it is always difficult to find parking. I fear with the expansion plans at the hotel, this will make parking worse!

Already the hotel has blocked off parking from the wharf area and the bank to cater to the clients of the hotel. I worry about all the merchants at the Wharf that lose business because there is no parking, and the potential shoppers get fed up and go elsewhere.

I hope the hotel expansion plan includes where the additional parking will be for their guests.
