Letter: Parking and good will in Salem

The Salem News

---- — To the editor:

We have always been very happy with the services of the city of Salem and the people who offer them, as well as being staunch supporters of Mayor Driscoll. The parking fiasco, however, is most unfortunate. The cost of parking at meters is unreasonable and to add to that, taking away the ability to park where there is time on a meter gives me a feeling of a city that is ready to take away every small privilege. The issue is not the money, but the erosion of goodwill that the city should foster among its citizens. I doubt if the increased income is worth that.
