Letter: Hoping for a fast fix for the Kernwood

To the editor:

Many motorists, including myself, were pleased to read that the Kernwood Bridge was finally going to be paved (”State to resurface Kernwood Bridge,” June 24). However, reading the article to the end, this is a material that can only be applied in the warm weather, and there is no “timetable” at present. So, does anyone know how long it will be before this work actually gets done? This summer or maybe not until next year? The bridge, which carries a large volume of traffic, is truly in a sad state of disrepair. Perhaps, Mayor Driscoll can enlist the help of Mayor Scanlon and urge the state to repair the bridge sooner rather than later.
