Letter: Thank you, Beverly voters

The Salem News

---- — To the editor:

Hi, fellow Beverly residents. I am very grateful that you have chosen to entrust me with the leadership of our great city. Until I can thank you in person, please accept this message of thanks. Thanks to everyone who voted for me, asked their friends and family to vote for me, and helped our campaign in so many ways.

I offered myself as a candidate for mayor, having learned long ago that no person can win election without many, many good people who care — in this case, people who care about our community of Beverly and who believe in me. I will always be grateful for the kindness and goodwill so many of you have shown me — and I will always be appreciative of the time and energy many of you have given (and lately the frozen toes and fingers you have endured) to help get me elected on Nov. 5.

I am determined to lead our city forward to future greatness, and I am determined to do so by engaging with and empowering all who want to participate, to work in good faith to shape a bright future for Beverly. I will be sworn into office as your next mayor on Monday, Jan. 6, 2014. Please contact me at MayorCahill@beverlyma.gov with your ideas and to offer your volunteer service to our great city. Please get involved as we begin a new era in Beverly. Thank you all.

Mike Cahill

Mayor-elect
