Letter: Winslow will protect our freedoms

The Salem News

---- — To the editor:

U.S. Sen. Elizabeth Warren at the South Boston St. Patrick’s Day Breakfast sagely advised those in attendance “to pay very close attention to Dan Winslow’s platform. He has a 100 percent ranking from the gun lobby and he’s for the legalization of marijuana.” Following her advice, I checked out Winslow’s platform and those of his two opponents. I watched video of the debates. I found that Dan alone understands the self-evident truths of the Declaration of Independence and the principles of the Constitution.

He will work within the framework of the Constitution to help solve our nation’s problems and protect the individual from the abuses and usurpations of the president and members of Congress who want to disarm law-abiding citizens, maintain the federal prohibition of marijuana, agree with too big to fail or jail, and foreign and domestic policies that created an incomprehensibly humongous debt without stabilizing, let alone growing, the economy.

Winslow courageously wants the “Grand Old Party” to return to its roots as the “Great Opportunity Party” of Lincoln. He can win in June if he wins the primary on April 30. I will vote for Dan and suggest all unenrolled lovers of Liberty do the same.
