The Salem News
---- — To the editor:
This is a long overdue (yet no less sincere and heartfelt) thank you to the Beverly community for their incredible support of the Riley ROCKS carnival that was held in August at the Beverly High School field house. It was a tremendous success, and we have the community to thank for that. The support was amazing, between donations from local businesses to the publicity from the local papers, BevCam, and 104.9. We would also like to thank the countless volunteers who took time out of their busy summer schedules to spend their day helping us to pull it off so successfully, as well as all of the families that came to the event. We take their smiles and positive comments as a sign that not only was the event a fundraising success, it also created many positive memories for the families of our community. The turnout was, in one word, astonishing. We should all feel so lucky and proud to call Beverly our home.
A special shout out to DesChamps Printing of Salem for making the banners, notecards and stickers, as well as Todd’s Sporting Goods for making the cool Riley Rocks tie-dyed T-shirts. Todd Rotondo donated so much of his time and hooked us up with most of what we needed to put on a carnival. Thanks, too, to Deb Ploszay for helping with public relations and so many, many others we could never begin to name.
We feel so fortunate to have been able to do something that helped such a tremendous family. Riley ROCKS and so does the city of Beverly!
