Letter: Include DeFranco in polls

To the editor:

This is the second time I have read in the Salem News that Marisa DeFranco, Democratic candidate for Congress, has been discriminated against by not including her in congressional election polls (“DeFranco attack raises questions,” April 26). The first, which included only Congressman John Tierney and Richard Tsei in only the northern portion of the district, was ridiculous. The second, by the Democratic Congressional Campaign Committee, left her out along with John Devine. These polls we have been reading about are all half-baked and are like eating an uncooked chicken.

This is a disservice not to Ms. DeFranco and John Devine but also to the voters who cannot become familiar with their political platforms. At the present time, candidate DeFranco, an immigration lawyer, has a handle on how to proceed with immigration reform, which makes more sense than any other theory I have read about regardless of political party.
