Letter: Grateful for Salem city workers

To the editor:

Recently, I needed the assistance of the Salem Department of Public Works to repair the water-main valve to my house. Their work was not only professional, but courteous, as well. The gentlemen came, completed the repair and left the lawn as nice as they found it. The foreman kept me informed throughout.

We often do not realize how lucky we are to have such great city employees available to help with all kinds of needs. First responders are often, and rightfully, thanked for their work. We should also thank all the others, as well.
