Letter: Wary of changes at Bentley School

To the editor:

Teachers are the educators, not companies. Hiring Blueprint Schools Network does not mean a blueprint for success. Students need their teachers focused and not distracted in order to give 100 percent of themselves — not distracted by worry about job security and wages.

Teachers give their kindness, caring, dedication and full devotion to the children at Bentley School. And grades 3 to 5 should not be singled out as a need for the Newton-based company Blueprint. Actually, no one teacher or educator anywhere in Salem should be singled out.

It makes me wonder if Bentley is a trial run to eventually have companies take over our public school system here in Salem.
