Letter: Thank you to Good Samaritans

To the editor:

It is not every day that a person immediately comes to your aid when you have had an accident. But that is what happened to me this past Sunday afternoon when I fell in the parking lot next to the East India Mall in Salem.

A very kind woman named Christina used her cellphone to call 911 and to call my sister, who was working that day at The House of the Seven Gables. Christina said, “I’ll stay here with you until the ambulance comes,” and she did. She was very reassuring and helpful when I was in pain, and I appreciate it very much. I also want to thank the people who stopped in an SUV and helped me until I left for the hospital. I am OK now and am so grateful for the kind help I received that day. There are many so good people out there who don’t hesitate to help out. Thank you to all of them.
