Letter: Sons keeping Beverly beautiful

To the editor:

My sons Lucas, age 11, and James, age 9, walked through Beverly Common on Election Day as they came home from downtown. They were upset by the graffiti they saw on the gazebo at the Common. They asked that I email Beverly Public Works Commissioner Mike Collins and ask permission for them to paint over the graffiti. Commissioner Collins graciously emailed back immediately saying that the DPW would be glad for the help in keeping the gazebo graffiti-free.

Today, my boys sanded down and painted over all the graffiti they could find on the gazebo. My husband and I are proud of their initiative in keeping Beverly beautiful.
