Letter: Obama judged by different standard than Bush

To the editor:

I have come to believe the only message President Obama and the Democratic Party have is, "Blame Bush."

Most things they accomplished within the first 18 months were done against the will of the people.

President Obama has spent two trillion dollars in 18 months. He lacks leadership skills, which are vital to the role of being president. He is constantly in campaign mode, and has never made the transition to being president.

Come next January, President Obama will have been in office two long years and many of us wish he could be replaced this year. Many people did not know who he was when he came into office. Still, today, many do not know who he is.

I would call him arrogant. His leadership is poor and some of it shows when you think about the people around him. The advice they give him is poor, and it shows when he has to make important decision. Many times his decisions are absolutely wrong.

A perfect example was the spill in the Gulf. It took President Obama nine days to respond. Many days passed before he went to Louisiana to see the coast and the damage it had done.

If you compare the way President Bush was treated for Hurricane Katrina compared to the way President Obama was treated for the spill in the Gulf of Mexico, they were treated very differently.

I find it very offensive that there is a double standard when it comes to Republicans and Democrats. Republicans are crucified and Democrats seem to get a pass.

Those in Washington, from President Obama down, live in a separate world from the rest of us. They also have their heads in the sand.

May God bless you all. Remember those who are serving in the military and who are fighting to keep us free.
