Letter: Pizza party!

To the editor:

The Ipswich Lions Club, organizers of the fun, family-friendly and charity-supporting Chowderfest in the fall, is starting a similar tradition in the spring — the Pizzafest!

We are searching for the area's best pizza makers to bring their best pies to vie for Best Cheese Pizza and Best House Specialty Pizza.

Join your community on Saturday, March 17, from noon to 3 p.m. in the Ipswich High/Middle School cafeteria. Folks of all ages love pizza, and everyone has their favorite, but this is the chance for you to help put that pizza on the map!

Pizza will be donated by area pizza places. The $10 admission price will provide you samples from each pizza — filling and tasty. All proceeds will go to local and regional charities.

Additional activities making this a fun event include children's games and activities, raffles with great prizes, music, and free vision and hearing screenings with the Lions Eyemobile.

If you think your restaurant makes the best pizza around, contact Karen at 978-356-3266 to reserve a spot, as they will be limited.

If you would like to be a sponsor, please contact Jane Mulloy at janem36@comcast.net or 978-356-0884 to learn about advertising and sponsorship opportunities available.

If you would like to volunteer at the event or have any other inquiries, please contact us at ipswichlionsevents@gmail.com.

And if you want to be part of the fun and taste pizza, tickets will be available at the door or in advance at Zumi's on Market Street.

All funds raised by the Ipswich Lions Club are given back to the community both locally and globally.
