Thanks: Dedicated professionals help elderly remain in their homes

To the editor:

During National Home Care Month, which is celebrated this November, I would like to take this opportunity to personally thank the staff of Northeast HomeCare for their efforts in serving patients and families throughout the communities of the North Shore.

I would also like to recognize our many professional partners throughout the community, including physicians, nurse practitioners and other health care providers, who help make home care possible by trusting us to care for their patients at home.

As executive director of Northeast HomeCare, I am privileged to lead a dedicated team made up of highly qualified registered nurses, physical therapists, occupational therapists, speech therapists, medical social workers and home health aides. In addition to our clinicians, we have a wonderful administrative staff that ensures our day-to-day operations run smoothly. It is my pleasure to recognize our entire staff for their efforts.

While November marks National Home Care Month, it is also American Diabetes Month. I would like to take this chance to recognize The Herrick House, our partner in a new program that supports residents of Herrick House in remaining in their assisted-living residence by managing their diabetes effectively. All of us at Northeast HomeCare, especially our certified diabetic educator, are excited to be working with Herrick House to bring an added level of care to elders living with diabetes in our communities.
