To the editor:
A thought comes to mind of how Salem State College might incorporate football into its athletic curriculum.
Salem State is a big school now and I think it and the surrounding area could support a football team, maybe at the Division 3 level.
As for its playing venue, the college could probably use Bertram Field, home of the Salem High Witches, when Salem High isn't playing.
It would certainly benefit Salem as it looks like Salem State is going to expand its educational facilities.
Just a thought for Olde Salem. Sports people like longtime retired Salem High School football coach Ken Perrone and other people with football experience could help a Salem State football program get off the ground.
