Letter: Registry of Deeds employees are truly there to help

To the editor:

Last November I headed down to the Registry Of Deeds to inquire about the Homestead Act. Upon arriving there, I noticed a sign on the desk that read, "How May We Help You?"

Though my cynicism can sometimes get the best of me, I quickly found that "sign" to hold true. I was completely taken aback over the helpfulness, eagerness to please, kindness and professionalism exhibited by all the Registry of Deeds employees I came into contact with that day.

I later found out through Kevin Harvey, the assistant register, that the employee's name was Nancy Doherty. Though I am, to say the least, a bit tardy in expressing gratitude and thanks to her personally, it is never too late to say, "Thank you; job well done."

I hope that John O'Brien, the Register of Deeds for the Essex South Registry of Deeds, appreciates and values his employees as much as I did that day. Essex County is blessed and fortunate to have such loyal, dedicated employees serving our public on a daily basis.

My sincerest thanks to Ms. Doherty and everyone else who assisted me that day for exemplifying what true public servants truly are.

Thank you for making it a positive experience for me.
