Letter: Frosty Four continues to grow

To the editor:

On behalf of the Wicked Running Club, thank you to all the runners who participated in our seventh annual Wicked Frosty Four on New Year’s Day. We broke our own record for number of registered runners with 881 signups for this year’s race. We also had an outstanding 169 runners sign up the day of the race.

Proceeds from the Wicked Frosty Four go to our scholarships that we give out each year to area student-athletes.

This annual community event would not be possible without the support of our generous sponsors. Major sponsors include the Tavern in the Square, North Shore Medical Center and New England Running Company. Additional sponsors include Woolfenden Family, North Shore Road Race Guide, Fitzgerald Physical Therapy Associates, Ernst & Young, Yogasakti, Brett and Allison Rickenback, Newbury Comics, Waters & Brown Paint & Decorating, Wolf, Greenfield & Sacks, Boston Herald, Orange Leaf Salem, Giblees Menswear, Latitude Sports Clubs Peabody, Mix 104.1, and Toomey Sports Running Center.

We are grateful to the many volunteers who donated their time leading up to the race and the morning of the race to volunteer, including: Kerry Phelan, Kevin Power, Patrick Smith, Amy Walsh, Patty Carter, Sandy Dalton, Michele Campbell, Rich Tabbut, Michel McClish, Jim Dalton, parents of Amber Woolfenden, Dennis Garripy, Peter Bartholomew, Donna Greenberg, TR Ramsdell, Kenny Hewson, Dan Sullivan, Deb Touchette, Liz Sullivan, Steve Touchette, Julie Arrison, Mara Mendehlson, David Bishop, Lisa Kelly, Doug Bollen, Anne Sousa, Cindy Johnson, Karen Alto, Debbie Shahidi, Kelly Morris, Patty Gurthro, Beth O’Grady, Shari Hewson, Gif Campbell, Deb Everett, Kelly Pheulpin, Bruce Campbell, Adams Family, Natalie Phelan, Laura Knight, Mariko Weston, Annie Miller, Andy Sousa, Doug Bollen, Alison Rickenbach, and Beth Griffin.

Special thanks to Gif Campbell for the great photos he took on the course, the Salem Police for keeping our runners safe and controlling traffic during the race and the Salem residents who cheered along and encouraged our runners on the course.
