Letter: Less traffic needed, not more

To the editor:

The Brimbal Avenue traffic situation does need to be addressed, but not by adding more traffic. There are times now when Brimbal Avenue traffic backs up from Dodge Street to beyond the Vittori-Rocci Post.

The proponents come up with “experts” who will say anything to get the measure approved.

One “expert” says there will be only 30 more cars per hour.

Another “expert” has said the projects may bring up to 7,500 more jobs to the area. Since there is limited, if no, public transportation, this means there may well be up to 7,500 more cars into the area.

I submit the first step should be the overpass across Route 128, which would open up lots of land for developers. Beverly can live without a Whole Foods until then.
