Letter: Tierney has a record of integrity

To the editor:

Having read the recent letter to the editor “Tired of Tierney’s smears” in The Salem News, I’d like to offer a few thoughts.

First, does the writer have access to a television? That would allow for viewing the relentless, scurrilous personal attacks on Congressman John Tierney, who enjoys an impeccable reputation for integrity and commitment regarding his 16 years of service in the United States House of Representatives.

Second, I find it curious that one who rails against smearing would engage in that very practice with the words “Unfortunately, John Tierney’s record of honesty is very questionable ...”

Am I missing something or is there an obvious bias in the aforementioned letter?
