Thanks: Benefit for scholarship fund a great success

To the editor:

We would like to take this opportunity to thank everyone who made the March 24 fundraiser for the Stephen J. Korumpas Memorial Scholarship such a great success.

Because of your generosity, a Salem High School senior matriculating to Salem State College will receive a $2,000 scholarship, as well as a $500 book allowance. What a great way to remember Stephen!

We would like to give special thanks to George Harrington and 43 Church restaurant for hosting this event; to Brian Maes and the band for providing the entertainment; to the past recipients who attended and to The Salem News for providing excellent community service by helping us publicize this event.

With the help of all, this event was a great success. Your help was greatly appreciated.
