Letter: Anniversary kickoff was fantastic

To the editor:

It was a fantastic day for our community as we joined together for our 50th Anniversary Celebration Kick Off Mass and Pancake Breakfast on Sunday, Jan. 13.

Acknowledging the Feast of Baptism, Father Bruce Flannagan and Deacon Edward Elibero welcomed our catechumens in the presence of the parishioners of St. Richard Parish. The church was filled with balloons, historical photos, white poinsettias and joy as music filled our ears with song, including the hymn “We Remember, We Celebrate, We Believe.” Home Blessing packets were distributed at the end of Mass as the song “Day by Day” from the play “Godspell” was sung. The words of the song were based on the Prayer of St. Richard. A pancake breakfast was served to 300 people prior to Mass in the church hall.

A special thank you to all of our donors, volunteers and CCD students.
