Letter: Grateful for Beverly's dedicated emergency staff

To the editor:

After a nasty fall down the stairs at home two weeks ago, my husband called for an ambulance. A short time later EMTs Scott Steves and John Taranto of Northeast Regional Ambulance arrived. Almost simultaneously Lt. Ryan Laracy and fellow fireman John Palm of the Beverly Fire Department arrived. I was in severe pain and had no idea how they would get me onto a board for transport to the hospital. In a matter of minutes, however, they transported me quickly and efficiently into the ambulance. Scott and John brought me to the hospital emergency room, constantly reassuring me during the trip.

People of Beverly and neighboring communities should be aware of how fortunate we are to have such dedicated emergency staff available to help us through a crisis. I am extremely grateful to these four gentlemen. My heartfelt thank you.
