Thanks: Event aided Cancer Center

To the editor:

On Nov. 17 our team at MassPay was honored to host the first annual "Fed Up With Cancer" event at the Danversport Yacht Club to benefit the Mass General/North Shore Cancer Center in Danvers.

The event drew more than 300 guests who were treated to food from some of the area's top restaurants, a silent auction and live music by the band Sunday's Well. With only a couple of months to plan, we were touched by the outpouring of support from local businesses, colleagues, clients and friends. The evening was a tribute to the collaborative efforts of so many who are passionate about finding a cure for cancer and supporting a treatment facility that we are so fortunate to have so close to home.

There are too many people to thank individually but we would like to acknowledge our platinum sponsors including Bernardini & Field LLP; Brenden Crocker's Wild Horse Café©; Manchester Essex Rotary Club; Merchant Consulting Group; Phil Richard & Associates Insurance; Sensitech Inc.; Shuman & Epstein LLC; and T.E. Whyte Construction.

We'd also like to thank the restaurants that participated including Acapulcos, Casual Catering at Super Sub, Creative Juices, Danversport Yacht Club, Edible Arrangements, Four 66 Pub & Grill, Goodies Ice Cream, Howling Wolf Taqueria, Ipswich Clambake, Little Italy, Ryan & Wood, The American BBQ, The Farm Bar & Grille, Toscana's Ristorante & Café© and Victoria Station. We are also grateful to the many in-kind donors and the volunteers who worked tirelessly to put together such a spectacular program.

The event raised more than $12,000 for the North Shore Cancer Center.

So many of us have witnessed the pain that cancer causes for people that we care about; and in recent years it has created hardships for our team at MassPay. As a company we are committed to serving the North Shore community in the fight against this disease. We hope that "Fed Up With Cancer" will become a new annual tradition for all of you who share our passion.

Thanks to everyone who chose to be a part of this inspirational night. We hope to see you again — and many more of you — next year.
