Letter: A good time for a good cause

To the editor:

On July 27, the sold-out Hannah Glover motored out into, around and beyond Salem Harbor carrying passengers who boarded with two objectives:

1. Support the work of Salem Children’s Charity.

2. Have a great time with friends.

Both objectives were accomplished.

Salem Children’s Charity took in just north of $3,000. As is always the case with this group, virtually every cent will be dedicated to providing assistance in a wide variety of ways to needy children in Salem.

The crowd represented that mixture of younger and older people representing all of the diverse groups of people that make Salem a very special place to live and work. We sailed with our friends and returned with friends we had not previously known.

A beautiful night, good food, good music and a good time had by all, and all for a noble cause.

For the people of Salem Children’s Charity, thank you, Salem!
