Letter: No glossing over Iraq, Afghanistan

To the editor:

Barbara Anderson seems to have forgotten the part about Iraq and Afghanistan as she skipped from Vietnam to Benghazi when speaking about our being lied to by our elected officials (“Obama’s approach to Syria unites Americans — in opposition,” Sept. 4).

No matter how you cut it, those are wars that will forever be linked to George W. Bush and Dick Cheney and no attempt to rewrite history will ever take the stain of the thousands of dead off their hands and onto President Obama. I’m afraid her “Republican” was showing too much with that omission. You are correct though when you say we lost face when we re-elected a weak, incompetent and foolish president. The thing is, it was George W. Bush, not President Obama.
