To the editor:
I am writing to encourage voters in Beverly Ward 2 to support Estelle Rand for ward councilor in the election on Nov. 5.
Before meeting Estelle during the campaign, I knew of her great work as founder and director of the Beverly Farmers Market. After sitting down with her, I learned about her other impressive civic activities, including her involvement with the Solid Waste Management Committee, Beverly Main Streets’ 30 & Main group, and the Arts and Enrichment Committee at Cove Elementary School, where her two children are students.
When I talked with Estelle about finding ways my neighbors and I could get involved in improving the look of Rantoul Street (before, during, and after the planned Rantoul Street redesign), she impressed me with her plans for reviving the Ward Two Civic Association. Most recently, Estelle has been consulting with entrepreneurs who want to reopen Bell’s Market on Cabot Street—now there’s a downtown dream we’ve all been awaiting.
Estelle Rand would bring a unique blend of vision, experience, and practicality to the Beverly City Council as Ward 2 and our city face some significant changes and challenges over the next few years. To find out more about Estelle and her ideas for Beverly, go to estellemrand.com.
