May 27, 2009 05:45 am BOXFORD — When Frederick Delisio Jr. had his electricity shut off, he found another source: his neighbor's home. Police said Delisio ran an extension cord from his home to his neighbor's garage. But on Saturday, the neighbor's son discovered the foreign extension cord. "The victim had unplugged the extension cord, and when confronted by Delisio, he admitted (to unplugging the extension cord), and Delisio became enraged," police Lt. Bob Hazelwood said at Delisio's arraignment yesterday at Haverhill District Court. Hazelwood said Delisio threw a pair of large electrician's pliers at the 17-year-old neighbor, causing a laceration to his lips and gums. Delisio also threatened to kill him and ran after the teen, according to police, who added there was also a confrontation with the teen's father and Delisio ran off. Delisio's neighbors called police, and they applied for a warrant on charges of assault and battery, assault and battery with a dangerous weapon, assault with a dangerous weapon, breaking and entering to put a person in fear, malicious destruction of property, and threatening to commit a crime. Police arrested Delisio the following day. At his arraignment yesterday, a judge sent Delisio to jail for 60 days because he committed a new offense while on release for two other cases. One of the previous cases includes six felony charges of animal cruelty. In February 2008, police said Delisio starved and withheld water from his three miniature ponies and three domestic geese. Delisio has denied the charges. That same month, the law enforcement arm of Boston's Animal Rescue League obtained a search warrant that permitted them to seize the animals from the property. Delisio also faces charges out of Danvers. On July 18, police charged Delisio with malicious destruction of property, disorderly conduct and larceny after he destroyed a vacuum cleaner in the Target parking lot when the store wouldn't let him return it. Hazelwood asked for $15,000 bail, since the patrolman who arrested Delisio on Sunday saw a dog run out of the house. This was in violation of Delisio's release on the animal-cruelty case. A judge set $5,000 bail on the new charges; the bail can be posted after the 60 days.
