Carol Kent Yacht Charters in Marblehead was recently welcomed as a new member of the Marblehead Chamber of Commerce.

The Essex County Bar Association, at its annual dinner meeting, which was held at the Ipswich Country Club, recently presented a "Lawyer for the Day" award to retired Essex Probate First Justice Edward J. Rockett. In addition, Attorney Donald R. Bumiller was elected president of the association.

Woodbridge Assisted Living in Peabody recently awarded Lynnfield resident Eadie Sands with the 2008 Mass Alfa Super Star Award for her volunteer work at the facility.

Giving

Edward L. Widronak, a Peabody dentist, recently volunteered on the Massachusetts Dental Society Foundation's Mobile Access to Care Van, which traveled to the Pettengill House in Salisbury. The Van, a dental clinic on wheels, has traveled across Massachusetts since February 2007 providing free dental care to underserved children.

All Danversbank branches are accepting donations to a school supply drive for the Massachusetts Coalition for the Homeless until Aug. 15. Backpacks, pencils, pens, rulers, staplers, folders, notebooks and any new school supplies are welcome.
