Julie M. Sleison
and Gerin B. Choiniere
William and Elizabeth Sleison of Topsfield, announce the engagement of their daughter Julie Marion Sleison to Gerin Brotherton Choiniere, son of Gerin and Angie Choiniere of Charlotte, N.C.
Julie is the granddaughter of the late Joseph Sleison and Louise P. Sleison of Salem, Mass. and the late Joseph T. and the late Kathryn M. O'Connor of Lynn.
Julie graduated from Masconomet High School, Boxford, and from Dartmouth College, Hanover, N.H., earning a BA Degree with Honors in Geography. She is employed by Media & Entertainment Strategies, Inc., in Wilton, Conn.
Gerin is the grandson of J. Armand Choiniere and Anita T. Choiniere of Winston Salem, N.C., and the late Thomas W. Brotherton and Jane B. Brotherton of Dallas. He graduated from Myers Park High School, Charlotte, N.C. and from SUNY Maritime College, New York, N.Y. earning a BS with Distinction in Maritime Transportation. An Ensign in the US Naval Reserve, Gerin is also a Third Officer in the US Merchant Marine and is employed by OSG America.
Julie and Gerin met when they both worked as crew on the Freedom Schooner Armistad in 2003.
Their wedding will be at noon on July 11, 2009, at the Van Landingham Estate in Charlotte, N.C.
