Julie E. Jagoe and Jeffrey T. L'Abbe

Ronald and Rosemary L'Abbe of Beverly and Russell and Mary Louise Jagoe of Trumbull, Conn. are pleased to announce the engagement of their children, Julie Elizabeth Jagoe and Jeffrey Todd L'Abbe.

Julie is a graduate of Trumbull High School. She received a Bachelor's degree from the University of Vermont and a Master's degree from Lesley University. She works for the Framingham Public Schools as a Literacy Specialist.

Jeffrey is a graduate of Beverly High School. He received a Bachelor's and Master's degree from Salem State College. He works for the Chemlsford Public Schools as a Middle School Teacher.

Jeff and Julie met while they were in two different countries. Julie was living in Brazil where she was a reading specialist at an elementary school. She taught there for three years and was going to return home to the United States just outside of Boston. Jeff was residing in Newburyport where he currently lives. It was May of 2006. That was when they first saw each other's face, online. If you've ever heard of EHarmony. com, it works. They communicated via email for a couple months, but didn't end up meeting until after Julie moved home.

It was July 29th when the two finally met, at Panera Bread in Chelmsford. They had their second date at a Red Sox game and then continued to enjoy a year of romance and love.

On July 29, 2007, one year later, Jeff presented Julie with their one-year anniversary gift, a book that he had written called, "The Story of Jeff and Julie: A Year of Love and Learning." Jeff worked with a graphic designer to insert pictures of wonderful memories and create the book. As Julie began reading their story, they reminisced about their year together. When she got to the final page, the last words read, "Jeff knew that he wanted to spend many more years with his precious Julie so he went with his heart and asked her a very special question . . . " That is how the story ended (or you could say began). At that point, Jeff got down on one knee and asked Julie if she would be his wife. She immediately accepted and then the two continued their anniversary celebration.

Jeff hired a driver to take them both to a surprise dinner at the Top of the Hub in Boston. There, he had a bouquet of Julie's favorite flowers: White Gerber Daisies. The newly engaged couple enjoyed an exquisite gourmet meal with a sunset view of the city and celebrated their love.

After a two-year engagement, Jeff and Julie will be married on July 12th of this year. A story of two people who were truly meant to be together.
