The Jackson Park Playground Committee of Swampscott will hold a community movie night on August 9 at Jackson Park, the future site of the Jackson Park Playground and Recreation area. Local rock groups, The Stems and Redrock, will play from 6 to 8 p.m., followed by the screening of "The Sandlot" on the outfield grass of the new high school softball field. Food will be sold, with all proceeds benefiting the fund raising effort to build the park and playground.
