Kitchen luminaries return for dinner series at Castle Hill

IPSWICH — In the rarefied air of fine dining in Boston, their names resonate, and for one night, each of them will showcase their talent at the Inn at Castle Hill.

The Trustees of Reservations are bringing back their Boston Celebrity Chef Dinner Series after a one-year hiatus caused by a change in management at the inn.

Beginning with Marco Suarez of Eastern Standard Restaurant on Sept. 18, culinary maestros will use locally grown or produced foods to put together a gastronome's menu. Don't be surprised to see beef or vegetables from another of the Trustees' property, Appleton Farms.

In the series debut, Green Meadows Farm in Hamilton also played a key role.

"The chefs will let us know ahead of time what they'd like, and we'll provide the resources," said JoAnn Beck, Education and Outreach Manager for the Trustees.

Suarez previously worked at Tremont 647 and Bouchee in the Back Bay. He is a graduate of the Culinary Institute of America.

The dinner series is a collaboration with the Trustees' Food Project at Long Hill in Beverly, which, along with Green Meadows Farm in Hamilton, will be supplying fresh produce.

Other chefs taking part are K.C. O'Hara of Gibbet Hill Farm, Oct. 2; James Hackney, L'Espalier, Nov. 6; and Barbara Lynch of No. 9 Park, Dec. 4.

Dinners will begin with cocktails and hors d'oeuvres served fireside in the Tavern at 6 p.m., followed by a four-course dinner in the main dining room of the Inn at 7 p.m. Prix fixe four-course menu, with two wines, cocktails and hors d'oeuvres, including tips and taxes, is $135 per person.

Reservations are required. Call The Trustees' Northeast Education and Outreach office at 978-921-1944, ext. 8815.

Proceeds will benefit a variety of Trustees programs at Castle Hill.
