First Baptist Church, 221 Cabot St., Beverly, will hold its annual holiday fair on Saturday from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m., featuring homemade knitted items, baked goods and a country store. Silent auction items include premier seating for the Celtics and tickets to the Patriots and Bruins. Children can have photos taken with Santa. No admission fee. Students play the fool
Salem State College continues productions with a theme of hope, with the opening of Neil Simon's "Fools" tomorrow night. The story of a Russian village cursed with stupidity stars Justin Sacramone of Peabody, who falls in love with the stupidest girl in the village, played by Katelyn Collins. The play runs Nov. 19 to 21 and Dec. 3 to 5 at 7:30 p.m. and Sunday, Dec. 6, at 2 p.m. at the Mainstage Theatre, 352 Lafayette St., Salem. Tickets are $15 general/$10 students and seniors. Helping kids navigate cruel kids
Dr. Michael Thompson, author of the New York Times best-seller "Raising Cain," will deliver the talk, "Best Friends/Worst Enemies: Friendship Development, Popularity and Social Cruelty in Childhood," tomorrow from 7 to 9 p.m. in the Gordon Room, Peabody Institute Library, 15 Sylvan St., Danvers.
