Edward Gould, 44, of 174 East St., Middleton, was arrested at 11:08 a.m. and charged with driving with a suspended license and an inspection sticker violation after police stopped his car on Maple Street.

A witness reported having seen a man walking with a gun on Jackson Street near Collins Middle School at 8:43 a.m. Several police officers scoured the area but couldn't find the person.
A Salem woman told police at 9:37 a.m. she'd been scammed out of $618.50 after answering a newspaper ad about puppies for sale.
A Cedar Avenue woman answered the door at 1:30 p.m. to find an MSPCA official investigating a complaint that she'd locked several cats into a closet. The investigator found nothing and said the caller sounded like he was drunk. The woman may seek a criminal complaint for harassment.
Donna Ray Linscott, 50, of 10 Dow St., Salem, was arrested at 10:07 p.m. and charged with domestic assault and battery. Michael John Linscott, 24, also of 10 Dow St., Salem, was arrested and charged with two counts of domestic assault and battery. Police reported that witnesses said Michael had been fighting and punching his mother, then started fighting his mother's boyfriend after he intervened. As police separated them and began talking, Donna punched her son's face twice and then refused to cooperate with police, they said.
A woman said she'd been on New Derby Street talking to a young man at 11:31 p.m. when he asked for change. She said that when she pulled out her money, he grabbed it and ran into a Toyota Corolla. The car backed into a Toyota RAV4, then hit it two more times before leaving. Salem and Lynn police looked for the suspects.

An officer saw a black Ford SUV swerve around to the wrong side of a Washington Street traffic island at 12:30 a.m. The officer found the driver sober but with a drunken girlfriend. The driver said the girl grabbed at the keys in the ignition, causing the car to swerve, but she was too drunk to realize how dangerous it was. Police took her into protective custody.
William L. Gates Jr., 33, of 32 Hart St., Beverly Farms, was arrested at 8:59 a.m. and charged with a marked lanes violation, driving with a revoked license (third offense), resisting arrest and a Salem warrant. A passenger, John C. Medeiros, 37, of 90 Endicott St., Peabody, was arrested and charged with being a disorderly person. Another passenger, Chyna Nicole Rinaldi, 22, of 5 Railroad Ave., Rowley, was also arrested and charged with being a disorderly person and possession of a Class E drug (Xanax). Police said they stopped Gates' Ford after seeing it swerve into a curb on Highland Avenue.
John R. Convery, 53, of 5 Mill St., Manchester, was arrested at 11:11 a.m. and charged with driving an unregistered vehicle, driving without insurance, driving after license suspension and a default warrant after a traffic stop in Washington Square.
Jeffrey R. Howland, 33, of 26 Forest Ave., Salem, and David C. Rooney, of the same address were each arrested at 1:39 p.m. and charged with possession of Class B drugs with intent to distribute, possession of Class D drugs with intent to distribute and two other counts of possession of drugs with intent to distribute. Investigators made the arrests on Forest Avenue.
Police found a 16-foot boat abandoned on a train track embankment at 4:03 p.m.

Ralph Hynes, 57, of 143 Stetson Ave., Swampscott, will be summonsed to court on charges of drunken driving (third offense) and operating a motor vehicle negligently. Someone called police after noticing a Mercury off the road near Andover Street and Buttonwood Lane, then finding the driver unconscious. Police towed the car and got an ambulance for Hynes.

Officers issued 56 tickets for the overnight parking ban and a warning to an out-of-state car.
At 9:12 a.m., police told picketers on Centennial Drive they could not protest on private property.
Ernande Ribeiro, 22, of 14 Andover St. Apt. 1, Peabody, was arrested at 12:13 p.m. and charged with failure to stop or yield, unlicensed operation of a motor vehicle and furnishing a false name or Social Security number. He was stopped on Lowell Street.
Johanne Delly, 27, of 52 Lynn St. Apt. 2, Peabody, was arrested at 2:02 p.m. and charged with shoplifting more than $100 after an incident at J.C. Penney.
A Tremont Street resident reported at 3:19 p.m. that someone had forced open her back door to steal collectible currency valued at $1,000.
Jamie Porazzo, 32, of 3 Coolidge Ave., Peabody, was arrested at 3:59 p.m. and charged with driving with a suspended license and a warrant. He was pulled over on Bartholomew Street.

Police trying to serve a court summons on a girl found out she'd run away from an adolescent crisis center.
Police ticketed people for parking in handicap zones at an Elliott Street Stop & Shop, the Cummings Center and Shaw's Plaza.
At 5:09 p.m., police investigated a report of marijuana coming from a first-floor apartment on Rantoul Street.
John Louis Linquata, 25, of 23 Wheeler St., Gloucester, was arrested and charged with driving with a suspended license and failure to use care. Police said he drove into a police cruiser at 5:32 p.m. on Broadway. Neither he nor Sgt. Lawrence VanLiere Jr. were injured in the accident, which didn't cause any reported major damage.
At 8:25 p.m., a Dodge Street employee reported being threatened.

Police found a Cabot Street cemetery headstone damaged at 9:04 a.m.
At 11:07 a.m., someone on Sohier Road reported being the victim of death threats.
A theft was reported at 11:43 a.m. from a Boyles Street building.
At 4:05 p.m., police heard a report of men with shotguns on rocks near Hale Street. They discovered two hunters.
Chyna Nicole Rinaldi, 22, of 5B Railroad Ave., Rowley, was arrested at 4:08 p.m. and charged with breaking and entering in the daytime to commit a felony and disturbing the police. Rinaldi was reportedly spotted by a man who saw her breaking into his car near the Beverly Depot. She ran away and reportedly disappeared in Casa de Lucca's bathroom. Later, an Aveda hair salon called police because she was causing a disturbance, acting erratically, carrying a bag and saying she was just waiting for a ride. The man was missing a jewelry store credit card.

Rafael Niz, 23, of 2 Rhodes Ave., Lynn, was arrested at 1:23 p.m. and charged with driving without a license and shoplifting. Angel House, 39, of 5 Porter St., Salem, was arrested and charged with shoplifting (third offense). Both were charged in an incident at Kohl's.
