BEVERLY — A tip helped police arrest two men who are accused of trying to break into Brother's Restaurant on Rantoul Street on Saturday.
Michael J. Bisegna, 36, of 9 Park St., Beverly, and Phillip D. Renard III, 20, of 36 Elwin St., Swampscott, face charges of breaking and entering in the nighttime to commit a felony and possession of burglarious tools.
Police Lt. Tim Hegarty said police received information the two men were going to break into the building near the Elliott Street intersection.
Patrolmen Erik Abrahamson, William Barror and Detective Richard Ganey staked out the building at about 2:25 a.m. and saw two men approach a rear door and use a metal bar to pry open the door, Hegarty said.
But a plow operator clearing the front parking lot of snow spooked the two because they hid behind a Dumpster for about five minutes until police approached and arrested them.
