April 11, 2008 05:45 am PEABODY — Fenway Park and the Peabody Institute Library will have something in common this Sunday: They are both places any die-hard Red Sox fan would love to be. The Sox' Championship Tour comes to the Peabody library Sunday so North Shore fans can get up close and personal with the team's two World Series trophies. The library is a timely location for the hardware. Next week, it kicks off its "Play by the Book" reading campaign that highlights books about baseball and features events including crafts and trivia, as well as visits by baseball authors and former players. According to Red Sox representative Marty Ray, this year's trophy tour will be different from the one following the Sox's 2004 victory. "In 2005, we tried to go to every city and town in Massachusetts," Ray said, "but that meant that we could sometimes only stay for an hour or so." This time around, Ray said, organizers are hitting about 30 cities and towns that will serve as converging spots for the surrounding communities. That way the trophies can remain a little longer and allow for more people to see them. Peabody has been chosen as the area's chance to see the trophies, but if fans miss out, they can make the trek up to Gloucester on Monday, where the trophies will make their next stop.
