May 02, 2008 12:16 am SALEM — Complaints of drug activity from a Tremont Street home prompted police action yesterday that led to a pair of arrests. Randy Castillo, 25, of Lynn and Michael S. Baccari, 29, of 34 Tremont St., Salem, were arrested and charged with possession of cocaine. Police had set up surveillance in the area of Mack Park and Tremont Street after concerned neighbors reported drug sales in the area. Police said Detective Tom Brennan spotted a Dodge Intrepid driven by Castillo pick up Baccari at his home and then drive around the area before returning. Baccari was dropped off, but was intercepted by Brennan and Detective Peter Baglioni, who found four bags of cocaine worth approximately $200 on Baccari, police said. Police later stopped the vehicle on Grove Street, and Castillo was detained by Capt. Paul Tucker, Detective John Doyle and Patrolman Michael Levesque. Police found a bag of cocaine on the floor. Police seized the car, $800 in cash and two cell phones, which constantly rang with customers looking for drugs, police said. Castillo was charged with cocaine possession with intent to distribute and cocaine distribution. Baccari was charged with one count of cocaine possession.
